Turner Lecture Series

Edward Wright Haile, Author, Historian, Poet, Cartographer, translator, musician, sailor, and land surveyor, will speak on a variety of topics. His most recent book is Jamestown Narratives, and he has a number of books of poetry, as well as a book on John Smith in the Chesapeake.

Jeff Wright, the president of Dragon Run, will bring us updates and happenings of this wonderful Cypress Swamp that filters much of the water for the Piankatank River. That is the cleanest river feeding into the Chesapeake Bay.

Ship Modelers’ Guild
Deltaville Ship Modelers’ Guild
The museum is pleased to sponsor monthly meetings of those interested in the art of ship modeling. Meetings are open to adult museum members of any skill level – from those who would like to get started to experienced modelers. Typical sessions last about an hour and include a demonstration or discussion of ship modeling techniques/tools and a time for attendees to share their current projects and ask for advice. Contact the museum for additional information.
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 10:00am in the events pavilion. Come and join us!
